Music Theory Pedagogy study at Eastman prepares you for a career of teaching success. We offer a two-semester course sequence in theory pedagogy, as well as opportunities to teach at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum with faculty supervision and mentoring. In addition to pedagogy studies within the Theory PhD, we offer an MA in Pedagogy of Music Theory, and a Certificate of Advanced Achievement in Music Theory Pedagogy. The latter offers a course of study for Eastman graduate students pursuing careers that combine music performance and music theory teaching.
