With great fanfare, the curtain rose in October 2004 on the stunning, new Eastman Theatre stage — shown here after its $5 million dollar renovation, which was completed in October 2004 on time and on budget.
All on-site construction was accomplished in the three months between July 1, 2004 and September 30, 2004 — a very short timeframe for such a sizeable renovation. The photos below show part of the construction and installation of the most "visible" improvement to the stage: the beautiful, custom, state-of-the-art shell, which was designed by Chaintreuil Jensen Stark Architects.
