Guitar Intensive Workshop

Riley Smith performs on guitar

NEW! Guitar Intensive Workshop
July 19-21, 2024, Friday-Sunday / 9a.m.-4p.m.
Ages: entering grades 6-9

Lynn McGrath, instructor

In this workshop for guitarists of all levels (entering 6th grade through 9th), participants will explore making music on the acoustic guitar as both soloists and ensemble members. Students will develop new skills and a deeper understanding of music through an exploration of multiple styles of guitar music (classical, blues, rock, and more). Other fun topics will include a class song writing project, learning about guitar construction, and more. The weekend event will conclude with a recital featuring ensembles as well as selected soloists. Students taking part will need to complete a survey form to assess level for placement, must provide their own classical acoustic instrument (in working condition) and footstool, and be ready to rock!

Performance: Sunday, July 21, 2024 / 3:30 p.m. / Hatch Recital Hall
