The Sibley Music Library was founded as a public music library for the greater Rochester community. Although our emphasis today is serving the students and faculty of the Eastman School, we are still a valuable resource for many musicians in Rochester and the surrounding area. In fact, anyone may enter the library and freely browse our collections; we ask only that, if you are not a registered borrower, you sign in at the circulation desk with an appropriate picture ID.
Members of the Rochester musical community who wish to borrow items from Sibley should apply for a Community Borrower’s Card. Forms are available at the Circulation Desk. Once approved, you must go to the Susan B. Anthony Building on the River Campus to get the Card itself (Eastman does not have the facilities to make cards), which costs a small fee. Eastman alumni may get a card at any time at the same location.
