Kangni Yang
STUDENT PROFILE
Kangni Yang is a first-year M.A. student in Ethnomusicology at the Eastman School of Music. Her research focuses on ethnic popular music in China, with an emphasis on its interplay between identity, hybridity, and gender issues within the context of globalization. Kangni holds a B.A. in Popular Music Performance from Shenzhen University. As a young member of the Miao ethnic minority in China, she also actively participates in various performances as an ethno-pop singer.
