DATES AND AUDITION OPTIONS
2025 Rochester Audition Dates: Fridays, January 31 and February 7, 14, 21, and 28
2025 Remote Audition Option: Applicants who would like to audition virtually may upload an audition video by February 1st.
PRE-SCREENING AND AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate
There is no pre-screening required for undergraduate trumpet.
BM Audition Requirements:
- Two contrasting pieces: these can either be solo pieces or etudes.
- Three orchestral excerpts of your choice.
- Possible sight reading.
Applicants in jazz studies and contemporary media should refer to the section on jazz for their requirements.
Graduate
There is no pre-screening required for graduate trumpet.
MM and DMA Audition Requirements:
- Two contrasting solo pieces
- Two contrasting etudes
- Three orchestral excerpts of your choice
- Possible sight reading
