Aby Stumpf
STUDENT PROFILE
Aby Stumpf is a junior studying at both the Eastman School of Music and University of Rochester, pursuing degrees in French Horn Performance and Music for Wellbeing: Maternal and Infant Cognitive Health, as well as a certificate in Arts Leadership. Hailing from Buckhorn, Ontario, Canada, Aby seeks to understand the unique effects that music and specialized beat patterns have on the neuro-cognitive health of infants and their caregivers (mother’s specifically), and how music as a non-invasive medicine can strengthen communities in need. In addition to her academics, Aby teaches privately to young French Horn students in both Rochester and Ontario, performs locally with Eastman-based chamber ensembles (such as the horn quartet Fourte!), teaches at the Eastman Community Music School in their early childhood classes, and works with Third Presbyterian Church as their Nursery Coordinator and lead Story and Song instructor. In her free time, Aby enjoys exploring new hiking trails, spending time with her friends and family, and gardening!
