Mihail Strezev
Mihail Strezev was born in Moldova into a family of three generations of musicians. His passion for music began at a young age, and he spent 18 years studying piano. However, he eventually decided to follow in the footsteps of his mother, Anna Strezeva, an accomplished concert organist, and became the first organ student in the country.
Under his mother’s tutelage, Mihail earned a Master’s degree in Organ and began pursuing his Doctorate degree. It was during this time that he won a Green Card and decided to move to the United States.
In 2018, fate led him to meet David Higgs, an esteemed organist and chair of the organ department at the Eastman School of Music. A year later, Mihail entered his studio and earned his Master’s degree, and now is pursuing a DMA degree.
Mihail previously worked at the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Naples, Florida, and now works at the Holy Cross Anglican Church in Webster, New York. Additionally, he is the recipient of the 2021 AGO Salisbury Scholarship.
Mihail’s passion and dedication have also been recognized in Europe, where he has played recitals in Moldova and Italy. He is a true devotee of his craft and strives to inspire people with organ music.
