STUDENT PROFILE
Jeongmin Oak, originally from Seoul, South Korea, is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music, under the direction of Dr. Andrew Harley. She started her solo piano training at the age of 5 and she actively participated in various performances at numerous halls in her home country, including the Jangchan Art Hall and Herman Art Hall. She received a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Seoul National University, studying under Prof. Minjung Lee.
As a collaborative pianist, Jeongmin has actively been performing as a repetiteur, vocal coach and pianist. During her undergraduate studies, she was the pianist for a production of ‘Le nozze di Figaro’ under the direction of distinguished mezzo-soprano, Jennifer Larmore. At Eastman, she serves as a studio accompanying and opera graduate assistant. As pianist for the Eastman Opera Theater, she recently performed the prologue to Ariadne auf Naxos-Prologue, Dido and Aeneas, and Dialogues des Carmélites. She was accepted into various summer festivals including the Vocal Piano Program at the 2024 Music Academy of the West, the Vocal Collaborative Piano Program and the Opera Coaching Program at the 2024 Aspen Music Festival and School.
