STUDENT PROFILE
Ava Linvog is a collaborative pianist from Seattle, Washington. She received her BA in music from Vassar College, and is currently pursuing an MM in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music with Dr. Andrew Harley.
At Vassar, Ava studied piano with Todd Crow and Thomas Sauer. She was active in the classical and jazz departments, appearing as a soloist with the Vassar Orchestra and the Vassar Wind Ensemble, and performing as part of a jazz combo. A committed scholar, she also held the position of music theory intern and assisted Dr. Kathryn Libin in her studies at the Lobkowicz Archives in the Czech Republic.
Ava holds a Graduate Award in opera accompaniment at Eastman. Her love for opera has led her to work with several groups in Washington, including NOISE (Northwest Opera in Schools, etc.) and Lowbrow Opera Collective. She has attended the Collaborative Piano Institute and the European American Musical Alliance Summer Institute, where she played in masterclasses and worked individually with artists including Martin Katz, Kathleen Kelly, Warren Jones, Rita Sloan, and Emile Naoumoff.
