STUDENT PROFILE
Linzi Li is known for her rich and diversified musical roles as collaborative pianist and soprano. Currently, Linzi is a Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music major graduate student in Eastman School of Music in the studio of Dr. Andrew Harley. In her first year, she studied with Dr. Jean Barr. Her natural instinct as a musician has led her in embracing varied careers. She also received her Bachelor of Music Education from Shanghai Conservatory of Music and once worked as a music teacher in Shanghai Xuhui High School. During the time in Shanghai, Linzi was trained as a singer for five consecutive years under celebrated mezzo soprano, Guang Yang, and thus developed her interest in vocal music. She also holds a Piano Performer’s Certificate from the University of Southern California and studied with world-renowned collaborative pianist and composer, Alan Smith. Enjoying her versatility as pianist and singer, Linzi was accepted to Songfest as both pianist and singer. As a Fall 2019 pianist of Songfest, she had the opportunities to be in masterclasses coached by Graham Johnson, John Musto, Margo Garrett, and Alan Smith. She attended the 2014 Liederfest in Suzhou, China, where she took the masterclass and was coached by Margo Garrett, Jennifer Tung, Lucas Wong. Linzi’s piano teachers also including Luman Duan, Xiaoyan Xia, Lucas Wong, Louise Thomas.
