STUDENT PROFILE
Samuel Ka-Ming Leung is a collaborative pianist and classical saxophonist from Hong Kong. As the keyboardist and saxophonist of the 2018 Asian Youth Orchestra, Leung gave his debut performances at the Beijing National Centre for Performing Arts Concert Hall, the Taipei National Concert Hall, and the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall. He was a finalist in the 2019 Asia Pacific Solo Saxophone Competition. In May 2022, Leung obtained an MM degree in classical saxophone performance at the Eastman School of Music, studying with Professor Chien-Kwan Lin. His tuition for this degree was fully funded by the ‘Hong Kong Scholarship of Excellence Scheme’.
In Fall 2022, Leung began the MM degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music at Eastman under the direction of Dr. Andrew Harley, graduating two years later as the recipient of the Barr Award in Accompanying. In Fall 2024, he entered the DMA degree program, having been awarded graduate assistantships in studio accompanying and orchestral keyboard. He was accepted into the 2023 Bowdoin International Music Festival as a Collaborative Piano Fellow studying with Prof. Pei-Shan Lee, and in 2024 he attended the Aspen Music Festival as an Orchestral Keyboard Fellow. Leung was recently inducted into the Beta Pi chapter of the Pi Kappa Lambda organization.
