STUDENT PROFILE
Hyejin Suzie Lee is a french hornist, born in South Korea and raised in Ohio. She gained early recognition with her orchestral debut performance of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No.1, reviewed by Cleveland Classical for her “incredible depth of sound” and powerful obbligato solo that “filled every inch of the hall.”
Lee earned her bachelor’s degree at the Peabody Institute under Robert Rearden. During her undergrad years, she spent two consecutive summers at Kent Blossom Summer Music Festival, performing with the Cleveland Orchestra at the Blossom Center.
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Horn Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, studying with Peter Kurau and Maura McCorvington. Outside of music, Suzie enjoys hip-hop dancing and spending time with her orange cat, Pumpkin.
