DATES AND AUDITION OPTIONS
2025 On campus Audition Dates: February 7, 14, 28
There is no pre-screening recording required for this program. Applicants may choose to audition either on-campus or via video upload, and the required repertoire is the same for both audition types.
Applicants who choose to audition by video recording should submit all other application materials by December 1st and upload their audition video within the online application by February 1st. In February applicants may be asked to interview remotely with Professor O’Dette.
PRE-SCREENING AND AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Graduate
MM: Audition repertoire should consist of 20 minutes of contrasting pieces displaying a variety of musical styles. This may involve selections on multiple instruments (Renaissance lute, Baroque lute, Baroque guitar, theorbo, Romantic guitar etc.) or a varied program for any one of those instruments.
DMA: Applicants should prepare a 30-minute recital program of advanced repertoire displaying a variety of musical styles. This may involve selections on multiple instruments (Renaissance lute, Baroque lute, Baroque guitar, theorbo, Romantic guitar etc.) or a varied program on any one of those instruments. There will also be a short sight-reading excerpt to demonstrate fluency playing basso continuo.
