Potential Itzhak Perlmans can try their hand at playing the violin – or the viola or cello – at the Eastman Beginning Strings Fall Open House on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Eastman Beginning Strings, a program of the Eastman Community Music School, is designed for 4-to-12-year-olds. Sullivan Violins is providing instruments which children and parents can try out as part of the Instrument Petting Zoo. Faculty from the Eastman Community Music School will be on hand to talk with prospective students and their families and answer questions about the program and registration.
In addition, current Eastman Beginning Strings Students will present a 25-minute performance at 10 a.m. and at 11 a.m.
The Fall Open House is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Eastman Community Music School at 585-274-1400.
