The Eastman School of Music’s Diversity Committee is hosting a discussion titled “Identities at Eastman: Talking about Religion on Campus” for Eastman and University of Rochester students, staff, and faculty on Monday, March 4, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Ciminelli Formal Lounge in the Student Living Center.
The discussion will explore how to talk about religion in a pluralistic community. The event features a panel of scholars and leaders of campus-based faith and community organizations who will address two core questions, followed by small-group discussions by audience members.
Panel members are: Rev. Brian C. Cool, chaplain, Roman Catholic Newman Community; Father Patrick Cowles, chaplain, Orthodox Christian Fellowship of Rochester; Professor of Ethnomusicology Ellen Koskoff; Deanna Kustas, staff, Campus for Christ; Kit Miller, director, M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence; Rev. Dr. Laurie Tiberi, chaplain, Protestant Community; Pastor Brian White, chaplain, UR Christian Fellowship; Rabbi Asher Yaras, Chabad House; and University of Rochester Director of Religious and Spiritual Life Rev. Dr. Denise Yarbrough.
