The Eastman-Rochester Chorus is holding auditions for its 2009-2010 season, with openings for all voice parts. Auditions are open to all singers in the greater Rochester area.
The chorus is scheduled to perform “Kyrie” and “Gloria” from Bach’s Mass in B-Minor and Poulenc’s Gloria on Dec. 4 with the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra. In the spring, the chorus will present Brahms’s Alto Rhapsody and Nänie and Bruckner’s Mass in D Minor on April 30.
No prepared solo is required for the audition, which is scheduled by appointment by calling 585-274-1444 or e-mailing chorus director William Weinert at erc@esm.rochester.edu. Rehearsals are held at Reformation Lutheran Church, 111 North Chestnut St., from 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. on Tuesdays starting Sept. 1.
Now in its 27th season, the Eastman-Rochester Chorus is a select symphonic chorus of voices from the Rochester community and the Eastman School of Music presenting choral masterworks in collaboration with the orchestras of the Eastman School of Music and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
