Hear the sounds of the only full-size Italian Baroque organ in North America, as performed by two outstanding 2007 Eastman School graduates, Sunday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m.
Earlier that day, Michael Unger and Annie Laver will receive Master of Music degrees in Eastman’s 2007 Commencement ceremony in the Eastman Theatre. New Eastman graduates are welcome to attend without charge. Michael and Annie invite fellow graduates and their families to this final recital of the 2006-07 Organ Showcase concert series. They will perform music by Corelli, Handel, Buxtehude, Boehm, and others.
Restored and installed in 2005 at the Memorial Art Gallery, the Italian Baroque organ is located in the Gallery’s Herdle Fountain Court and is surrounded by works of art from the Baroque period.
The recital begins at 5:30 p.m. and will last one hour. The cost of tickets is $12 (students, $8; free admission to 2007 Eastman graduates). Tickets are available at the door and can be purchased by cash or check. Seating is limited.
