A concert featuring Eastman School of Music vocal faculty is set for Sunday, December 3 at 3 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall. The event will be held to benefit a new endowed scholarship that will be awarded in the future to an Eastman voice student.

The concert will feature Eastman faculty including: Karen Holvik, soprano; Robert Swensen, tenor; Kathyrn Cowdrick, mezzo-soprano; Ted Christopher, baritone; Benton Hess, piano and Russell Miller, piano. Also performing will be bass baritone Derrick Smith, a member of the Eastman Community Music School faculty, and Eastman voice student Ina Woods, the first recipient of the new Renee Fleming Award, given to an outstanding soprano.
They will perform gems of the operatic repertoire, including highlights from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, Verdi’s Rigoletto, Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, Bizet’s Les Pecheurs de Perles, Offenbach’s The Grand Duchesse of Gerolstein, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, and Lalo’s Le Roi d’Ys.
The cost of tickets is $20 ($10 for UR ID holders). Tickets can be purchased from the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Box Office, 108 East Avenue (454-2100), and one hour before the concert at the Kilbourn Hall box office.
