The chandelier will be lowered beginning at approximately 7 a.m.
Cleaning and bulb replacement will begin at approximately 10 a.m.
What:
The two and a half ton crystal chandelier, which measures 14 feet in diameter and 35 feet in depth, will be lowered for cleaning and bulb replacement.
Once the chandelier is lowered to just above the tops of the seats below, Eastman maintenance staff will carefully clean and replace bulbs as needed, and will climb into the fixture during the process.
The chandelier contains 585 lights and 20,000 pieces of glass and crystal and hangs from a gilded sunburst in the center of the coffered domed ceiling of the theatre.
