ROCHESTER, NY — The popular “Eastman at Washington Square” concert series, sponsored by the Eastman School of Music and the First Universalist Church, returns to downtown Rochester this winter for the second half of its fifth season. These free lunchtime concerts, which resumed earlier this month, occur every Thursday through March 23.
Each concert takes place at the First Universalist Church, located at South Clinton Avenue and Court Street in Rochester.
The music begins at 12:15, and audience members are invited to bring a brown bag lunch to eat while they listen. Each half-hour, informal concert features talented Eastman faculty, students, or other guest artists, highlighting a particular genre of music each week. Some of the upcoming highlights include concerts by Eastman’s distinguished professor of cello Alan Harris (March 2) and the acclaimed Ying Quartet (March 16), as well as performances featuring talented Eastman guitar (Jan. 27) and piano (March 23) students.
The First Universalist Church is accessible by RTS bus service, or parking is available curbside and in nearby parking garages.
