Entrepreneurs in Music — and Don’t Forget about Mozart!
I have been called a monomaniac. I guess that’s good for some of the things I have gotten myself into. Once I start something, I’m motivated to get it done before starting something else. Preparing for a recital/concert or deadline to finish arrangements for exhibit at a conference requires motivation to achieve goals. Douglas Richard taught me the art of “we live and die by deadlines!”
I think the bottom line to being successful at anything is having a passion for whatever path you choose. Passion seems to be the necessary fuel to get to the goal. Along the road there may be set-backs that can either stop a goal, or let you re-group to achieve a better goal. Being optimistic is a necessity here. And you can’t escape hard work – that goes without saying.
The difficult thing I see is finding a talent for which you have passion – thinking outside the box with creativity is key to identifying that talent.
