A Week of Horn Recitals!
This coming week is FULL of horn recitals. First up is Michael Alexander- his Bachelor of Music/Performer’s Certificate Degree Recital is on Sunday, November 14 at 7:00PM in Kilbourn Hall. The program includes works by Schumann, Neuling, Strauss, Mozart, and Turner and features the talents of Beryl Garver, Jeremy Rhizor, Adrian Sandi, Rachel Greene, Ben Crofut, Trevor Mowry, Luci Disano, Greg Millar and fellow hornists Allison Akins, Lauren Becker, Mirella Gable, Amy Israeloff, Tim Martin, Emily Schroeder, and Josh Wood. There is a rumor of an Ice Cream Bar and world-famous homemade Chex Mix in a reception to follow in case the myriad of performers is not enough to entice you to attend!
Senior Katelyn Benedict’s Bachelor of Music Degree Recital is the following day in Kilbourn Hall. On Monday, November 15 at 11:30AM she will be performing works by Reynolds, Bach, and Reinecke. Featured guest artists include Anna Brumbaugh, Xi Chen, Dylan Smith, Alejandro Lopez, Rob Lufrano, Kevin Dombrowski, and Malcolm Matthews.
Maura McCune’s Bachelor of Music/Performer’s Certificate Degree Recital is on Friday, November 19 at 7:00PM in Kilbourn Hall. She will be assisted by Luis Ortiz, Robert McDonald, Deborah Song, Jon Heim, Jay Villella, Natalie Fuller, Mirella Gable, Andrew Friedrichs, Greg Hammond, Matthew Halbert, Justis MacKenzie, Mckenzie Camp, and Colin McCall in a program featuring works by Brahms, Harbison, Rachmaninoff, Albeniz, and E. Bernstein.
On November 21 at 1:30PM, junior Allyson Schuler and sophomore Jamison Ignatius will be presenting a joint non-degree recital in Ciminelli Formal Lounge in the Eastman Student Living Center. They will be performing works by Saint-Saëns, Mozart, and Jacob and assisted by Beryl Garver and Sora Oh.
But wait- there’s more! The Eastman Wind Ensemble is performing TONIGHT at 8:00PM in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. The program features works by Joseph Schwantner, Steven Stucky, J.S. Bach/Hunsberger, and Roberto Sierra/Scatterday.
