Master classes and EWE/EWO Performances

This has been a busy week for the horns at Eastman! Julie Landsman, retired Principal Horn of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, came out to present master classes on Monday and Tuesday evening. We are so grateful to her for spending time teaching and playing horn with us.

Tonight the Eastman Wind Ensemble and Eastman Wind Orchestra are presenting their final performances of the 2010-2011 school year. EWO is performing:

Husa Les Couleurs Fauves
Vaughan Williams: Toccata Marziale
Grantham: Southern Harmony

EWE will be performing Maslanka’s Symphony No. 2 and the New York premiere of Stephenson Dodecafecta for Solo Brass Quintet and Wind Ensemble. The featured soloists are the members of the Emerald Brass Quintet, comprised of Eastman alumni.
