What is the “Eastman Advantage”? We prepare our students as artists, scholars, teachers, and leaders. We are a comprehensive music school in which performance and research mutually inform and enhance each other within a diverse and inclusive environment. We are proud of our talented alumni who exude these qualities in their varied careers. Below they speak about what their education at Eastman gave them.

DMA Lecture Recitals
The artistry displayed by Eastman’s DMA alumni is deeply informed by their research, and the scholarship of Eastman’s PhD alumni is enriched by their experience as performers and composers. They are articulate teachers and leaders who share their musical insights with all types of audiences. The range of their extraordinary work is shown in the DMA lecture recitals below, followed by a lecture recital co-presented by PhD alumnus David Keep and DMA alumna Sarah VandenBrink, now colleagues at Hope College.
