Jeff Campbell is the Program Director of the Jazz I & II programs. Campbell is Professor and Chair of Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media at the Eastman School of Music. As a jazz bassist, he has performed with Marian McPartland, Gene Bertoncini, Rich Perry, Trio East, Harold Jones, the Eastman Jazz Quartet featuring Harold Danko, and has appeared on McPartland’s Piano Jazz program on National Public Radio. Campbell is a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra bass section, and has numerous CDs to his credit. 2018 marks Campbell’s 30th year at Birch Creek and his 22nd as the Jazz Program Director.
Music Ed Advisement Track Launched in Cooperation with the Eastman School of Music

The Music Education program at Geneseo is an advisement track that prepares qualified students to pursue graduate work in music education. Developed in cooperation with the Eastman School of Music, students who successfully complete the music education track at Geneseo are eligible to apply to Eastman’s M.A. program in Music Education with Professional Certification. While the music education track at Geneseo prepares students specifically for admission to the Eastman School, the program is broadly designed to prepare students to meet general entrance requirements for most Masters’ programs in music education, and particularly those leading to professional certification in music education in New York State.

Yvonne Rogers of Penobscot was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y.
Rogers is majoring in political science and jazz studies and contemporary media.
She is studying in the university’s College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering as well as in the Eastman School of Music.
