BIOGRAPHY
Wade Richards, LCAT, MT-BC, is a licensed creative arts therapist and board-certified music therapist. Wade is the former Chair of the Music Therapy Department and Orff-Schulwerk Department at the Hochstein School of Music & Dance where he served for 16 years. Currently he is the Program Director of the Trinity Assistance Corporation Blue Ridge Music Therapy Center. He also is the Program Director and founder of the Therapeutic Arts Program, a transition program he created for individuals with special needs ages 21-30. Wade received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Therapy from S.U.N.Y. at Fredonia with a concentration in Applied Voice. Later he completed his Orff-Schulwerk Level training through the Eastman School of Music, University of Kentucky, and Arizona State. He also pursued specialized training in Neurologic Music Therapy from the Center for Biomedical Research in Music at Colorado State University, and completed the advanced fellowship training through that program. He also completed a certificate training program in Performance Wellness under Louise Montello. He continues as director of his private music therapy practice and business “Time for Music,” under which he has published various resource materials and books for music therapists and music educators. Wade continues to present on various music therapy topics at various continuing education workshops and professional presentations across the nation.
