THE BLUE SYMPHONY

Loudly you proclaim your beauty!
You are motion in sound
Calming,
Exasperating,
Full
Drawing
Fortissimo
Forte
Rest

Vibrant Notes that transport
Swirling thoughts that consume you
and you are lost in
The Blue Symphony.

Changing hues of blue tickle your ears
like soft hot whispers.
The aroma of blue tantalizes your nose
and the rhythmic flow of light
Floods your eyes, Blue.
Blue is the Symphony.
The Symphony in Blue.
The Blue Symphony.
Amplify the volume that I may inhale each note,
Backbeat that I may feel the penetrating vibrations,
Play the chords of blue till I drop.
No explicit notes, only exotic
Flow from the base to the tip and back again
Groove with my imagination of you as a symphony in blue.
Softly, your harmony provokes me to come.
I see you improvise as you try to hold back the notes from climaxing too early.
You have so much jazz you would make Coltrane smile.
You are lyrics that are alive and flowing to all the corners of the mind.
Your melody is the blue symphony.
You are blue!
Dynamically!!!
The Symphony in Blue!!!
The Blue Symphony!!!!!

I am humbled to compose and present to the Eastman School of Music, The Blue Symphony to accompany the artwork by the great artist Dale Chihuly.
