Matthew Boice
Matthew Boice is a professional freelance bassoonist currently residing in Rochester, New York. He gigs with professional symphonies in the upstate New York region including the Rochester Philharmonic, Buffalo Philharmonic, Symphoria Syracuse, and the Orchestra of Northern New York. Throughout his musical endeavors he has won many competitions, including the Crane Concerto Competition, the Crane Chamber music Competition, the Eastman Chamber Music Competition, and the Eastman Concerto Competition for Bassoon. His studies in music include a Bachelor’s degree in bassoon performance from the Crane School of Music with Dr. Carol Lowe, followed by a Masters degree in Music Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of renowned professor of bassoon George Sakakeeny.
