Kyle Schober
A Native of Greer South Carolina, Kyle Schober is a graduate student at the Eastman School of music, where he studies horn with Peter Kurau, and is also a Teaching Assistant.
He recently graduated with a M.M. and Professional Performers’ Certificate in Horn Performance from Penn State University, where he was an active member in major ensembles, as well as the graduate brass and woodwind quintets. While at Penn State, he also served as the graduate teaching assistant. Prior to this, he earned his B.M. in Horn Performance from the Eastman School of Music after graduating from the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. In his high school years, he was a member of the Carolina Youth Symphony, playing principal horn for 4 years, and was also the runner up of the 2013-14 MTNA national senior brass competition. He also attended notable summer institutions such as Interlochen and the Boston University Tanglewood institute.
Kyle joined the staff of the Kendall Betts Horn Camp in 2020 after attending as a camper in 2017 and 2018, and is excited to join the faculty of the Eastman Community Music School as an intern.
