Kimia Peykarzadeh
Kimia Peykarzadeh is a classically trained pianist and educator. She is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Education at the Eastman School of Music. She holds a master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her piano studies have been guided by distinguished pianists such as Dr. David Korevaar and Dr. Elinor Freer, while her pedagogical training has been enriched under the guidance of Dr. Alejandro Cremaschi and Dr. Christopher Azzara.
For the past eight years, Kimia has been dedicated to teaching piano to students of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds. As an international student, Kimia is deeply passionate about infusing music classes with diverse cultural perspectives, using repertoire to bridge global connections. Her work has earned recognition from distinguished educators, including Dr. Alejandro Cremaschi, Dr. Pamela Pike, and Jennifer Hayghe.
Kimia has served as a teaching assistant at both CU Boulder and the Eastman School of Music, teaching group piano classes to undergraduate music and non-music major students.
Kimia believes that a truly great musician is not only an artist but also a thoughtful scholar, deeply engaged in the study of their craft. She has presented at the MTNA conference and contributed an article to the MTNA E-Journal discussing challenges encountered by international music students in the US.
Kimia has been awarded several prestigious scholarships, including the Roser Piano Keyboard Scholarship, Trotsky Piano Scholarship, Corbridge Endowed Music Scholarship, and Grad School UF Scholarships from the University of Colorado Boulder. She also received a full-tuition scholarship to the Eastman School of Music and the University of Colorado Boulder.
