Daniel Salazar
Daniel Salazar is a classical guitarist of more than 10 years from Southern California. Daniel started his music studies with Stephen Jones at the Pasadena City College. From there, he transferred to California State University, Fullerton to complete a Bachelor of Music degree under the guidance of Xavier Jara and Martha Masters. After graduating from CSUF, Daniel was awarded a scholarship to the University of Louisville to obtain a Master of Music degree in Guitar performance with an emphasis on String Pedagogy at the University of Louisville under the mentorship of Stephen Mattingly. As of 2024, Daniel is pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at Eastman School of Music with Nicholas Goluses as his instructor. Daniel has also been fortunate to study with Taso Comanescu of Pepperdine, and Scott Morris of California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Daniel has participated in festivals and competitions around the US and Spain. As a competitor, he has won awards such as The Los Angeles Secondary Music Teachers Association Annual Scholarship. He has partcipated in the Guitar Foundation of America convention, the Guitar Foundation National School Summit, the Louisville Guitar Festival, and the La Guitarra Espanola summer festival. Daniel has participated in masterclasses led by Pepe Romero, Scott Tennant, Dale Kavanagh, Elliot Fisk, Rafael Aguirre, Margarita Escarpa, Andrew York, Sungmin Shin, and many others.
