Daniel Adamczyk
Daniel Adamczyk is a musician from Charleston, West Virginia. Mr. Adamczyk studied at Alderson Broaddus University under the direction of Dr. Timothy Dewitt, former second chair trumpet of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. While studying at ABU, he performed with a touring Brass Quintet as well as the Brass Choir. In his freshman year, he won the ABU Concerto Competition, which allowed him to play the first movement of Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto with members of the WVSO. In the following year, he attended West Virginia State University, under the direction of Mr. David Porter, the current principal trumpet of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. During Mr. Adamczyk’s time at WVSU, he became the principal trumpet for the Charleston Chamber Orchestra (CCO). With this group, Mr. Adamczyk performed in The Viennese Master Invitational at New York’s Carnegie Hall and also performed on the Lincoln Center Stage in Washington, DC. Mr. Adamczyk would go on to achieve his master’s degree in Trumpet Performance/ Brass pedagogy at Ohio University, under the direction of John Schlabach, current principal of the Ohio Valley Symphony. Mr. Adamczyk won the Ohio University Student Concerto Competition at Ohio University, allowing him to perform the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto with Ohio University’s Wind Symphony. Now he is currently pursuing his DMA studies in Trumpet Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music.
