Joëlla Becker
Joëlla Becker is a cellist based in Rochester, NY, actively performing works in engaging and interactive ways. Her inventive spirit sparked her passion for historical performance, and she currently studies with Paul O’Dette and Christel Thielmann at the Eastman School of Music, performing as the principal cellist of the Eastman Collegium Musicum. In addition to historical performance, Joëlla is passionate about contemporary performance practices, premiering works of emerging young composers and collaborating with ensembles such as Musica Nova and Ensemble Signal.
Joëlla earned a Diplôme d’Etudes Musicales from the Conservatoire of Bordeaux as well as from the Conservatoire of Saint Maur des Fossés and is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in cello performance and Early Music at the Eastman School of Music
