Eastman joins in the worldwide observance of Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah) on Sunday, April 27, with A Time to Remember …, a concert of chamber music by, or inspired by, composers who were interned in concentration camps during World War II. Conceived by Associate Professor of Violin Renee Jolles, who also performs in the concert, the program includes other Eastman faculty members and students performing music by Pavel Haas, Erwin Schulhoff, and others. The works include Haas’s Suite for Oboe and Piano and Schulhoff’s Sonata for Solo Violin.
The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall. Admission is free with Eastman or University of Rochester ID, $10 for the general public.
