This October, the Eastman School of Music celebrated the legacy of distinguished faculty member and Eastman alumnus, the late Rayburn Wright (BM ’43), Professor of Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media and Co-Chair of the Conducting and Ensembles Department.

Collected on occasion of the Rayburn Wright Reunion and Tribute, held at the Eastman School of Music on October 11-14, 2012 to celebrate Ray’s many contributions to the Eastman School and its Jazz and Contemporary Media Program during his distinguished career on the collegiate faculty from 1970 to 1990, and to recognize his impact that endures to this day through the work of his colleagues and students.  Read more…

Ray Wright Tribute

Please join us in honoring Ray’s legacy at Eastman by making a gift to the Ray Wright Tribute. Gifts will be used to establish a permanent Rayburn Wright student prize or scholarship at the Eastman School, and to name Eastman Room 120 for Ray. Contributions in any amount are most welcome. Gifts of $2,500 and up will be recognized on a donor board, to be permanently displayed in the new Ray Wright Room.

Please consider making your hotel reservations in advance.  (Our reunion programming will run through Saturday evening, October 13.) The Rochester Plaza Hotel and Conference Center is the preferred hotel for our reunion weekend, and a special rate is being offered for our Rayburn Wright alumni.  Please note that this is a change from what was listed in the Eastman Weekend registration booklet.

Program
