Jamal J. Rossi, Joan and Martin Messinger Dean of the Eastman School of Music, and Allen Wang, Executive Director of Echo Music Abroad LLC, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enter into a partnership with the shared goal of launching of an International Pre-College Program through the Eastman Community Music School. This partnership will look to bring international high-school aged students to Rochester to pursue intensive musical training as they prepare for future collegiate-level study in music. As part of this program, Mr. Wang will develop additional partnerships with local high schools so that students can simultaneously earn a high school diploma while pursuing their musical education at Eastman.
“The Eastman School of Music is committed to promoting music education worldwide and the expected launch of the International Pre-College Program is a significant step towards achieving that goal,” says Dean Rossi, “and we are excited to work with Allen Wang to make this possible for students from China and around the world.” Additional information about the official launch of the International Pre-College Program is expected to be released in coming months as the partners finalize the details.
