Born and raised in Ningbo, China, Yuyang Zheng was admitted to the Eastman School of Music to continue his studies in saxophone under the guidance of Prof. Chien-Kwan Lin. He also became a member of the Eastman Saxophone Project and the Eastman Woodwind Ensemble. After four years of study with Prof. Xiaolu Zhang, Zheng graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2024. From November 2022 to March 2023, he attended the College of Music at Mahidol University as an exchange student, where he studied saxophone with Prof. Sheyn Lee and his team. Before entering ESM, Zheng received awards from several international competitions, including the 2020 Paris Opera International Competition, the 2nd Swiss International Music Competition, and the VI Geneva International Music Competition. He is always energetic, eager to make progress, and keen to learn from others in everything he does.
