Director of Admissions
The Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester is seeking a full-time Director of Admissions to oversee the recruitment and admission of highly-qualified undergraduate and graduate students from the United States and abroad. The Director will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive recruitment strategy that attracts a diverse pool of applicants who meet Eastman’s high musical and academic standards, with a goal of enrolling the optimal number of students for each of the School’s degree programs, majors, and instrument areas.
Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, the Director of Admissions leads a dynamic team of admissions professionals, and is charged with establishing and upholding best practices for a customer-service orientated admissions office. The Director works closely with the School’s senior leadership and faculty to build partnerships as it relates to recruitment and matriculation strategies, and collaboratively with the Director of Financial Aid and the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies on the implementation of Eastman’s financial aid strategy.
The position requires at least 5 years of experience in collegiate admissions, preferably in the area of music/performing arts, and candidates must have supervisory experience, outstanding interpersonal skills, and demonstrated proficiencies in information technology appropriate to admissions offices. The Admissions Office administrative system is Slate, and the University’s student information system is Workday Student.
