DATES AND AUDITION OPTIONS
2025 On campus Audition Dates: February 14, 21
There is no pre-screening recording required for undergraduate or graduate organ applicants. Applicants may choose to audition either on-campus or via video upload, and the required repertoire is the same for both audition types.
Applicants who choose to audition by video recording should submit all other application materials by December 1st and upload their audition video within the online application by February 1st. Applicants auditioning via recording will also be scheduled for a virtual non-performance meeting with the Organ faculty over zoom in February 2025.
PRESCREENING AND AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate
- At least one work by Bach or another Baroque composer
- Two selections by romantic or contemporary composers, one primarily lyrical and one primarily virtuosic
Graduate
MM audition requirements: Applicants should prepare a program of not more than 30 minutes, including a major work of J.S. Bach. Other works should be of contrasting styles and periods, and should include at least one lyrical and one virtuosic selection. Performance from memory is encouraged, but not required.
DMA audition requirements: Applicants should prepare a program of not more than 30 minutes, including a major work of J.S. Bach. The program should reflect the applicant’s breadth of knowledge of the organ repertoire, and their highest technical and musical achievements. Performance from memory is encouraged, but not required.
