STUDENT PROFILE
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Chiao-Ju Hung started her piano lessons from 6 years old. She attended musical school when she was 9, and have been studied in music ever since. Major in piano, Chiao-Ju studied with Professor Lina Yeh at National Taiwan Normal University, where she received her bachelor’s degree. She also acquired her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from NTNU in 2007. Due to her minor in composition and the love of the challenge of interpreting them, Chiao-Ju premiered several pieces (both solo and collaborative) by contemporary Taiwanese composers. She also performed her degree recitals in 2002 and 2007. Since 2011, Chiao-Ju has given annual recital tours between Taiwan and US as piano duo MusiC2. Apart from performing, she was the accompanist of several choirs in Taiwan, including Joy Choir, Supreme Administrative Court Choir and Taipei YMCA Oratorio Choir. She also taught piano lessons at various studios in Taipei. In 2017, Chiao-Ju was invited to be one of the official pianists of Mondial Chinese Vocalist Concours in Taipei. She is currently pursuing her second Master’s Degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of Professor Jean Barr.
