2009: The newly renovated Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre, home to the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and other groups, opened its doors to the public, a day before the RPO opened its season. Work at the hall was the first phase of a $46.9 million renovation project at the Eastman School of Music. Seating at the hall was reduced from 3,094 to 2,326 and the project also included showcasing “sweeping two-story box seats and an extended lobby with lounge seating.” Anna Reguero wrote of the opening days later, “A new era in the hall’s history, perhaps, but not void of the past.” Publication date: Oct. 8, 2009.
