Remember What's Important

Eastman Fund

A growing and vibrant Eastman Fund is a clear signal to current and prospective students and faculty that the Eastman School is unparalleled among its peers. But more importantly, it enables Eastman to continue to offer competitive scholarships, support creative initiatives, and provide start-of-the art resources.

Your generosity has the power to make an immediate and significant impact on every student every day, ensuring the Eastman School’s continued role in shaping the profession of and art of music. Gifts to the Eastman Fund are unrestricted in purpose and are essential to help meet the growing needs of the School.

To continue the legacy created by committed alumni and friends, we ask you to join us this year in making a gift to the Eastman Fund campaign. Feel free to contact Anne Boylan, Associate Director, Development Programs, at aboylan@esm.rochester.edu or 585.274-1044 with any questions.

Here are a few examples of how your gift to the Eastman Fund makes a difference:

IN SUPPORT OF STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

Through the years, alumni giving has played a significant role in the history and growth of Eastman’s scholarship program. The general scholarship program is a valuable student recruitment tool, and vital to sustaining Eastman’s tradition of excellence. Without limitations on major, instrument, or class year, general student scholarships afford the School greater flexibility in offering competitive financial aid packages to the most deserving students.

IN SUPPORT OF CREATIVE INITIATIVES

Guided by George Eastman’s vision of educating the “intelligent musician,” the Eastman School of Music is renowned for its long-standing commitment to both curricular innovation and the highest academic and performance standards. The Eastman Fund is an important source of support to realize and implement innovations that expand learning and performing opportunities beyond the classroom and performance hall.

IN SUPPORT OF STATE-OF-THE-ART RESOURCES

A blend of historic and contemporary architecture, the Eastman campus is a reflection of the institution’s esteemed past and its promising future. Over the years, the campus has changed and grown to meet the space needs of students, faculty, and staff. The School’s annual giving program has long been an important source of unrestricted dollars used to build and renew Eastman’s fine campus.

SENIOR CHALLENGE

Growing Eastman’s musical future through the spirit of philanthropy is the theme of Eastman’s Senior Class giving program, the Senior Challenge, established by the class of 2006. This year’s senior class will carry on this philanthropic tradition and will unite for a senior class portrait on the Grand Hall Main Staircase to kick off their campaign in support of the Eastman Fund’s Unrestricted Scholarship Fund.
