Wellness Program Announcement: Massage Programs Added

Attention Senior Class!  Senior Portrait Session Sign-up
Come to the Office of Student Life now to sign-up for a senior portrait session!  The Office of Student Life and Eastman StudentsÕ Association have arranged for this free portrait service with Dave Barone Photography.  There is no charge for your portrait sitting, which will get a photo of your choice into the yearbook.  Your images will be available to view online and select your yearbook photo.  You can also choose to purchase enlargements on-line.

Carlson MetroCenter YMCA ÒInvest In YouthÓ Fundraiser
The YMCA is holding a ceramic tile painting fundraiser.  You do not need to be a YMCA member to participate!  You can purchase a 6-inch tile for $17, or an 8-inch tile for $20, paint it and Color Me Mine will fire it.  Your tile will be mounted in the YMCA lobby to create a YMCA Tile Wall.  You can also purchase an additional tile to decorate for your own personal enjoyment. Your personal tile will be ready for pickup at the Metro Center YMCA a week after the painting.  Register at Front Desk of the YMCA.  Painting days and times are Saturday, November 8 form 10am to 1pm, and Monday, November 17 from 6pm to 8pm.

Halloween at the Bookstore

Miller Center, Eastman Bookstore
10% off Eastman logo Items.  Also, free donuts and cider, along with some giveaways.  Come check out the bookstore; it has updated convenience items like hair products, bath and body items.

Graduate Student Event: Spooky Soiree
Friday, October 31; 10pm to 1am
Rochester Club Ballroom, 120 East Ave.
Free for graduate students, $10 for All Others.  Free food, dancing, a DJ, creepy decorations, and a costume contest!  Be sure to bring your college ID and your driver's license/government ID.  Sponsored by the Graduate StudentsÕ Association.

RPO Concert: Juliana Athayde plays Brahms
Saturday, November 1; 8pm
Eastman Theatre
Brahms: Violin Concerto; Borodin: Symphony No. 2; Tchaikovsky: Marche Slave; The RPO's celebrated Concertmaster, Juliana Athayde, performs Brahms' breathtaking Violin Concerto, followed by two signature works of the Russian repertoire.  As part of the PAETEC Philharmonic Partners program, students can obtain $9 tickets to this concert. Tickets are available at the RPO Box Office.

Wellness Program Event:
Alexander Technique
Monday, November 3; 7pm to 9pm
Ciminelli Formal Lounge, Eastman Commons

Explore the principles of the Alexander Technique to gain awareness of the fundamentals that govern human movement! Learn to redirect excess tension, pain, and fatigue into useful energy, ease, flexibility and expressiveness. Alexander Technique teacher and cellist, Katie Fittipaldi, will present a lively workshop introducing many principles of the Alexander Technique.  Walk-ins to the workshop are welcome, but registering helps us ensure enough resources and space for all. You can register for this event by contacting the Office of Student Life (274-1106).

Election Day Events!
Thursday, November 4
Remember to VOTE!  The Dining Center will be serving a special lunch and dinner menu on this day, and starting at 6:30pm the election results broadcasts will begin in the Dining Center (from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, youÕll have to be a Dining Center customer; doors will open to everyone at 7:30pm).  Come, watch and listen to the results while you study, and enjoy some snacks throughout the evening!  Sponsored by Residential Life, Student Life, and Eastman Students for Social and Political Awareness.

A psychological thriller, the chamber opera is based on a short story by Henry James and revolves around a governess and the two children in her charge, who she suspects are being influenced by evil ghosts.  Student ticket prices are $7 to $17.  Student rush tickets ($5 the week of the event to full-time students with ID) will be available.
