The Eastman School of Music has honored Ruth Watanabe, emeritus Librarian of The Sibley Music Library, on the occasion of her birthday in recognition of her outstanding dedication and contributions to both the School and Library.

The prestigious Special Collections Department of the Sibley Library, which holds the largest rare books collection of any academic music library in the country, has been renamed the Ruth T. Watanabe Special Collections.

In addition to this, friends of Ruth are working to establish an endowment fund for acquisitions of the Sibley Library. Any interested individuals are invited to contribute. Checks should be made payable to the Eastman School of Music and must be specified for the "Ruth T. Watanabe Endowed Acquisitions Fund." They may be mailed to:
