05.07 Graduate Probation
A student who accumulates grades of "C" in 6 credit hours (master's) or 3 credit hours (doctoral) will be considered to have an unsatisfactory record, will be placed on probation, and may be dismissed from the degree program. Any graduate student who fails any course as a result of a documented breach of academic integrity will be placed on probation.
A student on probation may not hold a graduate award. Students in extenuating circumstances may appeal to the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies. Students who do not demonstrate adequate progress in their primary applied-music study, as demonstrated by either a "C" in applied studio lessons or by a failed jury, may also be placed on probation at the discretion of the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies in consultation with the department chair.
