The Summer Session Director works with the faculty chairs and academic deans to develop collegiate course offerings. She also works with the Community Music School leadership to plan brochures, marketing and general support for their programs.  Individual faculty members in all areas are encouraged to bring their creative ideas forward each September for programs/institutes for consideration.  Proposals are welcome for programs that are unique, serve a special clientele or need, serve the larger field of music or are artistically stimulating

The Director develops strategic summer plans, advertises and develops the marketing plan and all PR materials related to Summer Session.  The Director establishes mailing lists and supervises distribution of materials and the content of the ESM Summer Session Web site.  The Director administers the collegiate summer programs, all the institutes, and all the collegiate courses, with additional strategic oversight of the Community Music School's programs.  The Summer Session Director books the summer concerts, which are then given to the Concert Office in May for actual production.
