Polyphonic.org

Polyphonic.org – a website designed for professional orchestral musicians – debuted in April of last year. The site offers a range of educational and informational services to help career musicians realize professional growth, personal fulfillment, career advancement, job satisfaction, participate in their organizations and become effective stakeholders in their symphonies and musical arts organizations.

Polyphonic.org Anniversary – “I’m happy to announce the first anniversary of Polyphonic.org,” says editor in chief Ramon Ricker, “and even happier to report on a year of continuous growth and success. When the Eastman School of Music and the Institute for Music Leadership launched Polyphonic.org in April 2006, our goal was to become ‘the orchestra musician’s companion.’ But we didn’t realize how quickly the site would take off and develop. Praise from our growing list of registered users tells us we’re on the right track!”
The word “polyphonic” describes music with several independent, contrasting parts sounding together harmoniously. Polyphonic.org is a home for many independent voices in the world of today’s orchestral musician, coming together to enhance the professional development and broaden the perspectives of musicians in North American symphony orchestras and other musical arts organizations.

Polyphonic.org Prism Awards - Polyphonic.org has been recognized by the Rochester (N.Y.) Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America by recently receiving the Award of Excellence for a Not-for-Profit Website, and the PRism Element Award for a Not-for-Profit Press Kit. These awards are part of the chapter's Anvil/PRism Awards Program. The awards were presented at the chapter’s annual awards event earlier this summer.
To be considered for a PRism Award, websites and other tactical communications and public relations elements such as brochures, press kits, annual reports and other materials must meet the highest standards of performance in public relations and demonstrate sound research, planning, execution and evaluation.
