The Office of Careers and Professional Development presents a number of seminars addressing various career-related topics. These are ideal forums in which to gain insight on the job market and the search process.
Credential File Service Offered Through Interfolio.com!
The credential file service from Interfolio.com enables users to have all of their reference letters in one place. Credential files may also include unofficial transcripts and certification letters. There are many account and mailing options availiable online.
On-site Recruitment Events
Every year, the Office of Careers and Professional Development coordinates over 25 on-site auditions and visits for potential employers, summer festivals, professional programs and graduate school recruiters. Detailed information about each one of these events is updated daily on our website.
Interview Techniques
You’ve just landed an interview for the perfect job, but have never had one before – how do you handle it? The Office of Careers and Professional Development can hold mock interviews so that you have the chance to go through a practice run. We provide advice about approaches that work, and things to consider in the process. Contact the Office today to set up a mock interview!
Gig Service
The Eastman School of Music is known in the Rochester community for providing excellent musicians for local events and occasions. The Office of Careers and Professional Development operates a gig database which posts local employment opportunities submitted to us from the community, from one-time gigs to recurring appointments. It is a significant source of income for our student population. To take advantage of this service, students must first register through the Office.
Alliances with Local, National and International Career Offices
We have the advantage of being affiliated with a vast network of career offices, which expands the resources available to our students exponentially. We are a member of the Rochester Area Career Development Association, the Network of Music Career Development Officers, as well as being part of the University of Rochester. Our students can participate in any events sponsored by any of these organizations.
