More than ever, “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” It’s like speed dating, only for your career! Networking is crucial in building your business contacts, and knowing the right people can make all the difference. We know that, especially in a turbulent economy, it can be difficult to know where to begin. This event will be an easy way to open new avenues and develop new professional connections-whether you’re looking for a job, promoting your company, or simply looking to meet other career-minded Rochester alumni in your area.
How does it work?
Each meeting will last a few minutes, then you will rotate to the next person.
You will exchange business cards at each meeting.
After the speed networking rounds end, there will be a reception for you to continue your conversation with anyone of particular interest.

Pianist and Naples native Alden Gatt will perform in a recital for hometown fans. Alden is a 2006 graduate of the Community School of Naples and won the 2006 Southwest Florida Symphony Concerto Competition. He is a junior majoring in piano performance at the Eastman School and Chinese at the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, and serves as music director at First Universalist Church of Rochester. Free will offering.

Enjoy a duo concert of Eastman School faculty artists Hans Davidsson, professor of organ and director of the Eastman Rochester Organ Initiative, and his wife, Ulrika Davidsson, assistant professor of organ and historical keyboards. The program will include an organ Prelude in D major (Buxtehude), a piano solo (de Frumerie), and duets (Bach, Grieg, Franck, and Dupre). Join University of Rochester alumni, family and friends for an evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra performance will be conducted by Yuri Temirkanov. The program includes Beethoven, Violin Concerto; and Mahler, Symphony No. 4. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beer and wine cash bar reception prior to the performance. We will be joined by Eastman School of Music Dean Douglas Lowry, the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s CEO Mark Volpe ('79E), and Eastman alumni who are staff and members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Seating is available in the second tier and orchestra level of the Theater. Tickets for the second tier are $91.20; those for the first tier are $76 per person. Advance reservations are required. Guests should enter Symphony Hall via the Huntington St. entrance through Cohen Hall. Registration will be available for this event soon.

Arabesque Winds: Five award-winning young female musicians who bring a fresh, dynamic approach to the repertoire for woodwind quintet.
Join Eastman and University of Rochester alumni, family and friends for an evening at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, with a performance by the Arabesque Winds. After the concert, enjoy an hors d’oeuvre reception hosted by Douglas Lowry, Dean of the Eastman School of Music.

Join Eastman and University of Rochester alumni, parents, and friends for an extraordinary evening at Ravinia Festival with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Christoph Eschenbach and featuring pianist Tzimon Barto. The performance includes Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, Higdon’s Concerto 4-3 (Chicago premiere), and Gershwin’s Concerto in F.
Prior to the concert, enjoy a private reception with dinner and hear remarks by Eastman School of Music Dean Douglas Lowry. Admission is $45 per person and includes discounted concert tickets for the pavilion and the reception. We welcome you to attend the reception only for a charge of $20 per person.
